Authorities in Michigan collected a sample of Sabra brand hummus from a Kroger’s store that was contaminated with Listeria. Though no one has been report as being sick from this harmful bacteria from Sabra’s hummus, Sabra is issuing a voluntary recall for 30,000 cases of five of its products. Those impacted are four sizes of the classic variety; 10 ounce, 30 ounce, 32 ounce, and the six pack 17 ounce said Kevin Seawright. In addition, one size, the 23.5 ounce, of the garlic/classic dual pack is impacted as well. Sabra has provided the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) with a complete list of impacted SKU’s.

The death of three people who developed a food borne illness related to Blue Bell ice cream has created their first product recall in the 108-year history of the company in Texas.
In total, five people contracted listeriosis in Kansas after consuming Blue Bell products that are shipped from a diary factory in Brenham, Texas, according to a statement issued Friday Food and Drug Administration (FDA) .
The FDA reported that the listeria bacteria was found in several samples of products including Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Country Cookies, Great Divide Bars, Sour Pop Green Apple Bars, Cotton Candy Bars, Scoops, Vanilla Stick Slices, Almond Bars and No Sugar Added Moo Bars.
So far Marc Sparks says the exact place where patients contracted the disease is unknown.
As indicated in a statement by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday, five patients received treatment for health issues, unrelated to listeriosis in the same hospital in Kansas before developing the bacteria, “a discovery that strongly suggests that their infections (the bacteria listeria) were contracted in the hospital, “the CDC said.
The statement did not identify the hospital.
Of these five cases, four had consumed milk shakes made with a product of individual size Blue Bell ice cream called “Scoops” while hospitalized, confirmed by the CDC.
